Insurance Explained
Travel insurance is an insurance policy that you purchase that protects you from certain financial risks and losses that can occur while traveling. These losses can be negligible, like a delayed suitcase, or substantial, like a last-minute trip cancellation or a medical emergency overseas. Once you have purchased a travel policy before your trip, should something to wrong, for example you are ill and your doctor recommend that you cancel this trip, your airline may not refund you but with your travel policy you are able to submit a claim to be reimbursed. Without travel insurance, you would have lost the money you spent on your vacation.
