When We Collect Your Information

We collect information:

  1. At your time of application for membership
  2. You give us;
  3. From your use of our products, services or our websites (through cookies), mobile apps, message boards, online forms, chat areas, social media platforms and;
  4. Provided to us by third parties. credit bureau.

Use of Cookies for Collection of Information on Digital Platforms of the Capita

Capita also uses “cookies” to collect information. A cookie is a small data file that most major websites write to your hard drive for record keeping purposes when you visit them. How We Use Your Information

We use, and share, your data in the following cases:

  1. To assess eligibility and credibility for the services, products and facilities we offer
  2. To provide Capita and other related or affiliate services, products and facilities to you.
  3. To implement any contracts we have entered into with you.
  4. To conduct credit searches with credit reference agencies in order to provide credit facilities and, where necessary, for fraud prevention and debt recovery.
  5. To comply with a legal obligation (e.g. reporting to the regulatory authorities and law enforcement)
  6. To use for our legitimate interests such as managing our business on a day to day basis including credit risk management, providing service information, conducting marketing activities, training, quality assurance and strategic planning.
  7. Where you have agreed or explicitly consented to the using of your data in a specific way as per law (you may withdraw your consent at any time).
  8. To register you for electronic newsletters or other customer services, with your specific consent.
  9. To track activity and collect information on your preferences which will assist in enhancing your online user experience and offering of relevant products and services

How We Use Automated Processing Of Your Data

We may analyse your information using automated means to:

  1. Assist in making assessments where you apply for a loan including creditworthiness and affordability.
  2. Assist in protection of your account.
  3. Identify your suitability/eligibility as a prospect for a particular product or service.

Who We Share Your Information With

Sharing can occur in the following circumstances and/or with the following:

  1. Our systems suppliers who test backup data.
  2. Our supplier used for “know your customer” “KYC” services.
  3. Our off-site storage supplier.
  4. Debt collectors & solicitors used for recovery of outstanding debts.
  5. Customers authorised representatives e.g. power of attorney. Can also be Attorneys-at-Law, court appointed representatives, e.g. persons appointed to deal with a member’s affairs under mental health acts, etc.
  6. Statutory and regulatory bodies and law enforcement authorities as required under law.
  7. Credit reference/rating agencies all of whom would be subject to confidentiality agreements.

Restricted Use of Information

Capita does not sell, rent or lease its member data to third parties.  Capita may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. In those cases, your unique, personally identifiable information (e-mail, name, address, telephone number) is not transferred to the third party.

In addition, we may share data with trusted partners to help us perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to Capita, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information. Capita does not use or disclose sensitive personal information, such as race and religion, without your explicit consent.

Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personal identity information or personally sensitive data through Capita’s public message boards, this information may be collected and used by others.

How Long We Hold Your Information

Our retention periods are subject to legislation, regulatory rules set by our regulator and the type of financial product or service provided to you.
