Derrick Cummins is Director and Managing Consultant of Botanic Naturals International Inc. (BNI), a role he started on September 1, 2022.  He is responsible for transforming BNI into a global life sciences company delivering traditionally used plants in scientifically efficient manners to international markets.

Mr. Cummins has over 22 years’ experience in executive banking, and treasury and portfolio Management in the offshore sector in Barbados.  His prior work experience includes Chief Executive Officer of Amicorp Bank and Trust Ltd, Chief Executive Officer at J&T Bank and Trust Inc., Head of Investment Services J&T Bank and Trust Inc., Associate Portfolio Manager at CIBC Offshore Banking Services Corp, Investment Officer, London Life Bank and Trust Corp, Senior Economist at the National Productivity Council, and Senior Research Officer at the Barbados National Insurance Office.

He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Capita Financial Services Inc., a role he started in December 2022, as well as a Member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC).

Mr. Cummins received his Masters degree in Finance and Management in 2000 from the School of Business and Economics, University of Exeter, UK.  He is also a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.  Mr. Cummins also tutored Financial Management in the faculty of Management Studies at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus from 2008 to 2015.

Mr. Cummins served as the President of BIBA from 2020 to 2022, and during this tenure with BIBA, Derrick has held positions of Director, First Vice President, and Second Vice President in addition to sitting on a number of BIBA Committees, including being Chairman of the Steering Committee of International Business Week 2018 and 2019.
